The first option is living on post. Your second option is using your BAH to rent or buy a home off post. We provide you with military friendly information to help you maximize your BAH.
On Base Housing
The Unaccompanied Personnel Housing Office (757) 462-4860 consists of 2 buildings; Hutchin Hall and Williams Hall. Each room has two beds with shared bathrooms. Rooms are fully furnished and come with a refrigerator, microwave and vacuum.
Housing Services Center (757) 462-8939 offers housing services for both incoming and departing personnel.
JEB Little Creek-Fort Story on base housing in privatized and operated by Lincoln Military Housing. Little Creek Communities (757) 447-9468 offers seven communities of 2-4 bedroom single family homes and duplexes based on rank and family size.

Though the base has a Norfolk address, it is located more in Virginia Beach. These cities are the top two most populated in the state and are a part of the area known as Hampton Roads. Other cities in Hampton Roads include Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Hampton, and Newport News. This is a heavily populated area and is home to many military installations; housing is not scarce here and the locals are used to the military lifestyle. A typical commute is about 20 minutes. However, traffic can be brutal in these parts, especially at rush hours. This coastal area of southern Virginia is just 1.5 hours southeast of Richmond, the capital city. Washington D.C. is a 3.5 hour drive north of base. The cities around JEB Little Creek - Fort Story are: Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk and Portsmouth.
About JEB Little Creek - Fort Story
Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek has four locations in three states with the Fleet Training Center Dam Neck in Virginia Beach, Radio Island at Morehead City, N.C. and an amphibious area for U.S. Marine Corps units at MCB Camp LeJeune, N.C. The Naval Amphibious Base provides support to military personnel by offering training facilities for amphibious operations.
